Carol Mutch is an associate professor and head of school in the School of Critical Studies in Education at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She has worked as a teacher, teacher educator, policy advisor, and academic. She has published books, chapters, and articles on education policy, curriculum development, research methods, social studies, and citizenship education. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in curriculum, social justice and diversity, educational policy, and research methods. Her current research follows the plight of school communities in post-earthquake Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
