Catherine A. Chesla completed her Master of Science in nursing at the University of Washington in 1978 and PhD in nursing at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1988. She is now a professor in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing, UCSF. She was awarded 100th Anniversary Alumni Excellence, UCSF Alumni Association, in 2015.
