Dr. Efird completed his Doctorate in Epidemiology (Biostatistics Concentration) at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is a Professor at the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Newcastle, where he also serves as Chairperson of Public Health Statistics and Director of the Programme in Predictive Analytics and Outcomes Research. Dr. Efird’s research interests include biomarker research, genetic epidemiology, cancer informatics, brain tumours, soft-tissue sarcomas, and HPV-related cancers. Dr. Efird has over 200 publications in scientific journals and proceedings which have received >7000 citation (h-index=42).
