Nirmala Bhoo Pathy, MD, PhD University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Nirmala Bhoo Pathy graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Malaya, and subsequently obtained a Master of Public Health with distinction. Following a fellowship award from the European Union, she completed her masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology with cum laude, followed by a PhD in Cancer Epidemiology from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands.She currently works as an associate professor of epidemiology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, and visiting lecturer at the School of Public Health, Queen's University Belfast . Nirmala does research in Epidemiology and Oncology. Her current projects include the "ASEAN Costs in Oncology (ACTION) Study, "Cardiovascular outcomes in cancer patients", and "Needs of patients surviving cancer in Asian settings".
