Åshild Kolås Peace Research Institute Oslo, Norway

 Åshild Kolås is a social anthropologist and research professor at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO). Her core research interests are ethnicity, identity politics and representation. She has carried out fieldwork in Tibet, Nepal, Inner Mongolia and Northeast India, and written extensively on governmentality, cultural politics, and identity. She is the author of Tourism and Tibetan Culture in Transition. A Place Called Shangrila (Routledge, 2008).
