Basak Sahin-Acar Middle East Technical University, Turkey

Basak Sahin-Acar is assistant professor of Psychology and a member of the faculty in Gender and Women’s Studies at Middle East Technical University. She holds a PhD in psychology from the University of New Hampshire. Her research centers on autobiographical memory development, with a focus on mother–child reminiscing styles and factors explaining individual differences in narrating and reminiscing about past events, including gender, self-construal, and cultural orientation. She serves as a voluntary consultant for Turkish non-profit organizations’ projects on fostering children’s cognitive and social development.
