Claudia Parvanta leads the behavioral science research and health communication programs at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Together with Nelson, Parvanta (S) and Harner, she is the author of Essentials of Public Health Communication (Jones & Bartlett Learning, 2011) and Communicating Public Health Information Effectively: A Guide for Practitioners (APHA, 2002) with Nelson, Brownson, and Remington. Before joining U Sciences in 2005, Claudia headed the Division of Health Communication, (in the Office of the Director) at the CDC for six years.
