Too applied, not advanced enough for doctoral seminar; not enough research review, and research that is cited tends to be dated
The book contains insufficient examples and diagrams, and is too text-heavy to appeal to the mainly undergraduates in my project management class. Also, quantitative or analytical topics like risk analysis and scheduling are not covered in sufficient depth, so I would need to supplement several topics. Finally, the title of the book is "Leading Project Teams," but the first half of the book is more about technical skills (developing a charter, the WBS, scheduling, risk management). I expected more of a focus on the soft skills of leadership, which is difficult to teach, and I wanted to see how this author approached the topic.
We were looking for a more basic approach to the concepts of Project Management for this 200 level course. It provides the key concepts with examples and was well received with test group.
Social Media is a complex environment. Including a Project Management text in an advanced Social Media Strategy course is crucial as it equips students with essential skills to efficiently plan, execute, and evaluate social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
