Dr. Gianluca Pucciarelli (RN, PhD) is a registered nurse, specialist of neuroscience nursing. Currently, he has been working at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) as a Research fellow, in department of Biomedicine and Prevention. His research is mostly devoted to cardiovascular disease, such as Stroke and Heart failure. Specifically, he has been studying the interdependence between stroke survivors and their informal caregivers after the stroke survivors’ discharge from rehabilitation hospitals, through a dyadic approach.He is a member of the CVSN Stroke nursing Committee (American Heart Association) which mission is: (1) to play an active role in all aspects of the prevention, acute management, critical care, and rehabilitation of stroke patients; (2) to shape the science pertaining to the care of persons with or at risk for stroke; (3) to disseminate information about stroke care; (4) to address issues relevant to stroke nursing in patients with cerebrovascular disease and stroke; (5) to develop scientific statements and other professional education materials. He is also a member of the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (ACNAP) and of the Council stroke (European Society of Cardiology).
