Helena Blomberg, PhD Mälardalen University, Sweden

Helena Blomberg is an associate professor in sociology and has worked as a lecturer at the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare at Mälardalen University since 2013. Blomberg’s research interests include identity constructions, interactions, workplace bullying, social media and media. She has published internationally in the fields of discourse and narrative analysis. Blomberg’s latest studies have focused on the media’s presentation of professionals, such as nurses and social worker, as well as nurses’ blogs about their workplace, to mobilise other nurses in the struggle for improved working conditions. Blomberg is part of the Nordic Narrative Network, a group of researchers representing various disciplines, such as history, pedagogical work, sociology, educational science, care science and social work, who arrange an annual narrative conference and have written several anthologies together. Blomberg is also part of the Discourse Group led by Professor Mats Börjesson, at the department of Child and Youth studies, Stockholm University.
