Marilyn L. Kwan, Ph.D. is a Research Scientist II at the Division of Research, Kaiser Permanente Northern California, conducting research on cancer prognosis and survival in primarily breast and bladder cancer patients. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley with her Ph.D. in Epidemiology in May 2004 and completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in September 2005, also at UC Berkeley. Following the completion of her fellowship, Dr. Kwan joined the Division of Research, where her current research focus is breast and bladder cancer prognosis and survival. Specifically, her interests include lifestyle and molecular factors and their associations with cancer recurrence, survival, and quality of life. She also studies the long-term health effects of cancer treatment, specifically lymphedema and bone health, in breast cancer survivors.
