Very good new edition of book previously used.
In this 6th edition Pugh and Duffy bring together a range of exciting educational issues within the early years education and care. From the lecturer’s point of view the exclusive companion website supports debates, group discussions and critical thinking amongst the students. Present, arguable topics makes this book a must have.
A useful book that gives a balanced view of relevant issues within the sector.
The updated contemporary issues in early years is a useful book for students at both foundation and degree level. It takes students on the journey through the Early years landscape in useful and thought provoking ways.
This book provides a unique and critical insight into the most significant issues affecting early years policy. It includes contributions from leading authorities and researchers in the field, and draws on current research to address key debates and offer international perspectives.
for all my students as they need to appreciate the course they are doing is for 0-19 years not just school age
An essential read for all early years practitioners, particularly the chapter on working with parents.
This book presents a comprehensive review as the title indicates of contemporary issues in the early years. Chapters are content rich in respect of the issues they explore and whilst sometimes being a little dense they offer the reader a fair critique of some complex and interconnected issues and are in the main accompanied by summaries and where necessary definitions of terms.
The book will be of significant interest to those seeking a thorough investigation of issues at a 'meso' and 'macro' level.
The wait for this book was worth every minute. A very up to date read which will enhance any student in studying issues in the field of educare. Pugh has again provided an essential and highly recommended book. Many thanks.
