Jeremy G. Wideman Arizona State University, USA

Dr. Wideman is an assistant professor at Arizona State University at the Center for Mechanisms of Evolution in the Biodesign Institute. He began his research career investigating the role of the ERMES (ER-Mitochondria Encounter Structure) complex in mitochondrial protein import in the filamentous fungus Neurospora crassa. He investigated the evolutionary diversity of membrane contact site complexes including ERMES and MICOS using a comparative genomic approach during his postdoctoral fellowships. His lab now focuses on the phenotypic reconstruction of the ancestral eukaryote.
