this book has all the key elements for practice especially third stage of labour, normal birth etc. this book also has a good section on medicines management which is key in the current complexity. Students and new mentors can occasionally find this complex

Excellent book for first year students - provides them with everything they need to know.
A user friendly text with numerous examples sign posting students with regard to their clinical and professional development. Clear links with expectations of pre-registration standards throughout. This is a really useful book.
A really good text for first-year student midwives, but perhaps too simplistic for those later in their training. The layout is very clear and I really like the activity panels which direct them to further learning. May need to be updated once the new standards are published
