Signing the Journal’s Contributor License
Sage requires the author as the rights holder to sign a Contributor License for all journal articles we publish.
Sage’s Contributor License is a license agreement under which the author retains copyright in the work but grants Sage the sole and exclusive right and license to publish for the full legal term of copyright. Exceptions may exist where assignment of copyright is required or preferred by a proprietor other than Sage. In this case copyright in the work will be assigned from the author to the proprietor.
The Sage Choice publishing option was designed to support authors who wish to have their research article made open access immediately upon publication, or are required to do so by their funding body. The policies of grant funding bodies throughout the world (e.g., NIH, Wellcome Trust, RCUK etc.) vary widely with regards to open access requirements and Sage Choice is designed to be compliant with some of the most stringent requirements.

DNA
Significant public understanding exists with regard to DNA and it is no longer regarded as ‘belonging’ to upper secondary school and university learning. It is commonly referenced material in the media and therefore public awareness is high. Promoting public understanding and contributing to citizenship are important priorities in school science education.
SAGE Ocean has announced the winners of its first ever Concept Grants: Quanteda Studio, MiniVAN and Digital DNA Toolbox. Each winner has been awarded $35,000 to support the development of their project.
