Paola Maycotte, Ph.DDr. Maycotte studied a B.Sc. (2002) in chemistry and pharmacy from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She received her M.Sc. (2006) and Ph.D. (2009) in biochemistry from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) studying cell death mechanisms during neuronal development. She did her postdoctoral studies (2009-2014) at University of Colorado Cancer Center studying the biology of autophagy in cancer. She is currently (since 2014) a CONACYT (National Council for Science and Technology in Mexico) research fellow at National Institute for Social Security in Puebla, Mexico where her interests include autophagy, mitochondria and immune system regulation in cancer biology.
