Rajeev Kumar Director of Programme - Asia, SOS Children's Villages International
Dr. Rajeev Kumar is currently the General Manager, Learning and Development at Tata Group Corporate Communication Department. He holds Masters Degrees in Communications Studies and Defence Studies. He earned his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He was a Fulbright Doctoral Fellow at Texas A&M University. His earlier assignments include Head of Learning and Development at Larsen and Toubro, Professor in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources at Goa Institute of Management and Senior Practice Consultant at the Tata Management Training Centre, Pune. He has a military background and switched careers from the Army as a Colonel. He was also Director, Media for the Indian Army. His doctoral work focused on communication in corporate restructuring and he specializes in Communication; Change Management; Issues Management; Media and Public Relations and Organizational Development. He is the author of a book, “Intrapreneurs@mjunction”, a case study in Entrepreneurship. He is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators and is one of their Gold Quill Award recipients for excellence in Strategic Communication. He was elected as Vice Chair of the inaugural IABC Global Certification Council in 2014 and continues to be a member of the Council. This year (yet to be announced) he has been selected by IABC as the Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Council.
