Tamao Endo Tokyo Metropolitan Institution of Gerontology, Tokyo, Japan
Dr. Tamao Endo is Vice-director, and Head of Molecular Glycobiology, Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology. He graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Tokyo and obtained his Ph.D. at the same institution. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Baylor College of Medicine, and a research associate in the Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo. His laboratory is focusing on post-genomic research in aging and diseases, and his current research interests are glycobiology on development, aging, and dementia.
In addition to being on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, Dr. Endo is on the Editorial Board of Glycobiology. He is a past recipient of 2002 Tokyo Metropolitan Governor’s Award, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan Award for Divisional Scientific Promotion, and The Asahi Award.
