Thomas N. Wight, Ph.D.
Dr. Wight is Director of the Hope Heart Matrix Biology Program at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. He received his PhD from the University of New Hampshire and joined the University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Pathology where he remains an affiliate professor. His research focuses on the role of proteoglycans in regulating cell phenotype and extracellular matrix assembly. He has published over 270 manuscripts in this field of research.
In addition to serving as an Associate Editor of The Journal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, Dr. Wight serves on the editorial boards of Matrix Biology and Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, and is a trustee of the International Society of Hyaluronan Sciences. Dr. Wight is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, from whom he has also received an Established Investigator Award.
