David Isaacson is a professor of Mathematical Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He works on applying mathematics to improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease, especially lung, and heart diseases, as well as breast cancer. David Isaacson has developed Electrical Impedance imaging systems for monitoring patient’s heart and lung functions, as well for experimental adjuncts to mammography for the diagnosis of breast cancer. He has worked on pharmacokinetic and dynamic problems arising in the chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer as well as the quantitative modeling of resistance mechanisms and molecular signaling networks that result in the proliferation of cancers.
