Personality and Individual Differences

The book is an excellent reference point and contains some really useful information, particularly the chapter on the use of intellectual ability tests which is also relevant to cognitive psychology. The book is very well presented and makes good use of diagrams and pictures to break up the text and provide examples. I also particularly like the structure of each chapter and the use of learning outcomes, critical thinking activities and assignments.

This book offers a novel approach to Personality and Individual Differences and is excellent in encouraging critical thinking about the topic. I feel it would be best used in conjunction with more traditional titles, but would be useful to support level 2 and 3 modules in this area.

A nice brief text on the subject. Could have more depth though.

Other lecturers are due to be teaching the personality element of the module next year, and so they will be selecting their chosen reading materials in regards to this field.

I like the clarity and the brevity of the text. It covers concise topics in an informative yet succinct way. The criticality of the text is also useful at this level.

I will recommend it to some of my project students working with personality traits.
The book is well structured and the information is clear, relevant and well thought.
My only criticism is related to the fact that the concise manner in which information is delivered makes the book feel a bit like a summary with bullet points and hampers the flow of the text. On the other hand, I do not know how it could be done differently.

A good solid introduction to the area of individual differences. Still a bit unsure about chapter 8- why motivation and not other difference?

Nice and easy to read

Like- focus on health (physical and mental) & coverage of cross cultural issues. Maybe used to supportindividual lectures, but too specific for entire module support.

A much needed book in the field but very eclectic in its choice of topics covered.
