Meera Alagaraja Texas A & M University, College Station, USA
Meera Alagaraja is an Associate Professor of Human Resources and Organization Development at the University of Louisville, USA. In addition to being a faculty of the Human Resources and Organization Development (HROD) program, she is also a full-time faculty member for Programme Evaluation in the Department of Educational Evaluation, Leadership and Organizational Development (ELEOD). She teaches introductory and advanced qualitative research methods for doctoral students. Her research interests focus on three broad areas—well-being, strategic HR, and workforce development. Her research publications have received several recognitions in journals such as the Human Resource Development Quarterly, Human Resource Development Review, and Human Resource Development International. She was awarded the Monica M Lee award for outstanding research in 2013 and was the recipient of the Richard A Swanson award for excellence in research in 2017. Her research emphasizes the role and importance of HR in strategy making and strategy implementation in the specific context of Lean. Her most recent work on well-being focuses on the everyday impact of individual decision-making for corporate employees as well as members from low-income and low-resourced communities.
