Tian Yi Xu Western University, Canada

Ms. Tian Yi Xu is a PhD student in Sociology at Western University. Tian’s research interests include gender inequality, gender-based violence, the life course theory, resilience, social demography, quantitative methods, and mix-methods research. Her dissertation research explores the Resilience in Childhood Exposure to Intimate Partner Violence in a Life Course Perspective. Tian has been recognized

with the Western Graduate Fellowship and is a collaborator on the SSHRC Insight Grant PROTECT project exploring related topics. Alongside her research, Tian contributes as a teaching assistant at Western University, primarily for courses on Quantitative Research Methods. Tian also serves on the editorial team of the peer-reviewed academic journal Journal for Social Thought (JST). When not working, she enjoys playing the piano and spending time with her cat, an orange tabby named Passionfruit.
