"This book provides an excellent resource for students training to be teachers and professionals concerned about effective behaviour management"- Lecturer, Bishop Grosseteste University College
This is an excellent resource and is very well laid out. Key aspects are covered. Summaries and reflective tasks are useful.
This book is extremely useful for under graduate ITT students as it makes very explicit links between theory and practice, both in the whole school and classroom situation. Also clear links to documentation and legislation are made and students are directed to useful websites, journals and literature for further research. The book makes clear references to real life and is very accessible, summarising salient points.
Easy to follow. Linked to ATS standards. Covers basics about the most feared area: behaviour.
We are particularly recommending students look at the first chapter for this module. However this is a useful general text relevant to many Professional Studies modules that will be invaluable for supporting students and new teachers, in schools when dealing with issues regarding pupil behaviour.
Easy to access but with plenty of further reading. I liked the activites and reflective tasks.
A very useful book for students to begin understanding the key issues in managing behaviour.
Class management is still the number one problem for trainee teachers, to judge from their own comments. Behaviour is also clearly a number one priority for the DfE in developing new standards for QTS. This book makes a very useful contribution and is one of the most widely read texts on our reading lists for the primary PGCE.
