Professor Grønbjerg’s interests focus on the nonprofit sector, broadly defined, and the sector's relationship to government. Her current work examines the scope and community dimensions of the Indiana nonprofit sector (www.indiana.edu/~nonprof). Other research and publications focus on the American welfare system, nonprofit funding relations, nonprofit capacity, and nonprofit data sources.

Susan M. Chambré is a Professor of Sociology at Baruch College, City University of New York where she edits the Working Papers Series of the Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management. She has published three books and numerous articles on civil society, volunteerism and social policy.

David C. Hammack is a past president of ARNOVA. His works on the growth and development of nonprofit organizations include MAKING THE NONPROFIT SECTOR in the U.S. (Indiana, 1998), GLOBALIZATION, PHILANTHROPY, AND CIVIL SOCIETY (Indiana 2009) and AMERICAN FOUNDATIONS (Brookings, 2010).

Eleanor Brown is the James Irvine Professor of Economics at Pomona College. Her research centers on charitable giving, volunteering, nonprofit organizations, and resource allocation within the family. She was a deputy editor of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly from 1998 to 2010.

Francie Ostrower, is Professor in the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Senior Fellow at the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service. She is also an Urban Institute Affiliated Scholar. Her research and teaching focus on philanthropy, nonprofit governance, and cultural participation.
