Yoed Rabin, DSc Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA
Dr. Yoed Rabin is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (affiliated since 1994). He received his BS (1989) and MS (1991) from Ben-Gurion University in Israel, and DSc (1994) from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Previously, Dr. Rabin held primary affiliations with the Division of Surgical Oncology at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA (1994-1996), the Department of Human Oncology at the Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, Pittsburgh, PA (1996-1998), and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion (1997-2000). Dr. Rabin has been affiliated with a wide variety of industrial companies over the years, working on a broad range of thermal engineering applications. Dr. Rabin has a broad range of research interests in the area of energy modalities in biology and medicine with current emphasis on cryosurgery, cryopreservation, thermal ablation, interstitial photodynamic therapy (I-PDT), irreversible electroporation (IRE), miniature implantable sensors, thermal regulation in biological systems, and medical education.
