Mark has been employed at the University of Nottingham since 1995, initially as a Lecturer in Social Work. He was made Senior Lecturer in 2004 and Associate Professor in 2006. A qualified social worker, he was employed in Social Services Departments for 18 years, working in residential child care, staff development and training, policy development, and in the implementation of community care. He has teaching and research interests in. He has published widely in social work with older people, community care, inter-professional working and the involvement of service users in the delivery of social work and its education.
